III International Toguz korgool tournament in memory of Chyngyz Aitmatov (Kyrgyzstan)

The Kyrgyz capital has celebrated today the birthday of the famous Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov. The sportsmen from Turkey, Mongolia, China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan take part in the III International competition on Kyrgyz national game Toguz Korgool also on the occasion of writer’s birthday. The tournament will be held from 6-12 of December 2016 at the National Library in Bishkek.

 According to the press-service of the State Agency for Youth Physical Culture and Sports of the KR, athletes who took the 1-9 places will be awarded with medals, diplomas and prizes.

Moreover the National Library hosted the book-illustration exhibition titled “Universe of Aitmatov”, which was devoted to the life of the writer. Books, newspaper and magazine articles, both local and foreign well-known publications were exposed at the exhibition, according to the source.
Chingiz Aitmatov was born December 12, 1928. The writer died June 10, 2008 in a hospital in the German city of Nuremberg clinic where he was receiving treatment.
